At Roebourne DHS, our staff are learners too!
On Monday 15th April, 2024 staff were invited to Mingullatharndo (5 Mile) Community for a day of learning and the developing of our cultural awareness and understandings.
This professional learning gave staff a deeper understanding of the cultural diversity and histories of Aboriginal communities in the Pilbara region. Strong partnerships and networks with our Aboriginal communities and organisations, supports ongoing cultural learning and collaborations in our school.
Many thanks to Mingullatharndo Aboriginal Community for having us on the day, we all thoroughly enjoyed it and were able to take away some very useful information.
Special thanks to Pastor Marshall Smith, Kalsyn Smith, Elders & community members for sharing their knowledge and experiences with us.
Roebourne District High School is a proud participant of the Karratha and Roebourne Education Initiative (KREI), this day was made possible by the support Woodside North West and its joint venture partners.
